Volkswagen T-ROC concept debuts at Geneva Motor show

As promised, Volkswagen brought the pint-sized T-ROC concept to the Geneva Motor Show this week. Intended to be positioned below the Taigun compact SUV (not to be confused with the Tiguan) the T-ROC sits on the Golf platform known internally as MQB. But the T-ROC is actually shorter than the Golf, at 164.5 inches in length, owing to short overhangs.

New MINI teased in competition to attend the reveal It may be a few more weeks until the new MIN I is unveiled – 18th November, Sir Alec Issigonis’ birthday – but MINI is already upping the tease with a new competition. The reveal of the new MINI is scheduled to happen simultaneously at events in London, Los Angels and Shanghai and MINI are offering the chance to get an invite to one of the three reveals for three lucky winners. New MINI 5-door Hatch revealed – but will you fit through the back doors?

The 5-door MINI hatch arrives We’ve already had the more BMW-like new MINI arrive, and now, for the first time, we get a MINI 5-door hatch to try and extend the appeal of the MINI range to families. The 5-door MINI gets an extra 72mm in the wheelbase and a pair of doors at the back – which do look very tight for full-size people to use – and there’s also an extra 15mm of headroom, a bigger boot and seating for three in the back. In terms of design, there’s little to choose between the 5-door and the 3-door, but the new 5-door does look a bit like the off-spring of the new MINI and the Countryman; just a little dumpy.
